What went down
It was #NBAJerseyDay, the day of the year when uniforms are flexed and celebrated like the badge of honor they truly are.

It was also a chance to highlight the Celtics-Lakers rivalry. The rivalry delivered. In a game that looked to be all Boston (they led by as many as 20 points), LA turned it into another heartstopping ballgame.
The Lakers went on a wild 18-0 run starting from the third quarter, and went on to overtake a suddenly ice-cold Celtics, which went scoreless for about six minutes.
LA held on to a two-point lead with only 20 seconds left, but Jayson Tatum put matters into his own hands and hit a tough fadeaway over LeBron James to send the game into overtime. The move looked very familiar:

James and Anthony Davis combined for 70 points, but Boston was just too much in the endgame—it almost felt like they were toying with the emotions of Laker Nation. In that regard, the rivalry is doing okay.
Big-time ballers
In overtime, the Celtics from the first half regained consciousness and didn’t let up. Tatum held another masterclass, finishing with 44 points. Jaylen Brown chipped in 25 points.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was all over the defending champs Golden State Warriors in the Bucks’ big win. He scored 30 points despite shooting only 34 percent from the field.

The Houston Rockets got a surprise blowout win over the Phoenix Suns, which missed Devin Booker (then later Deandre Ayton) to injuries. Jalen Green was in attack mode all night and finished with 26 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
James Harden has been balling since his return to injury. After another big game, Harden became the first Sixers player in franchise history to score 15-plus points and dish out 15-plus assists in back-to-back games.
What he said
The Sixers are on a roll right now. After beating the original Beam Team Sacramento Kings, the Sixers’ official social media account was feeling a bit saucy:
