Behind a balanced effort, the Phoenix Suns defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves to win their fifth straight game.

Scoreboard

Bulls 108, Nets 99
Heat 116, Warriors 109
Thunder 116, Magic 108
Suns 116, Timberwolves 108

What went down

Only four games today but all four were pretty much worth the watch.

The Bulls went up against the Nets, who played their first game after Steve Nash was let go, and needed 20 points from Zach Lavine in the fourth to get the win on the road. Lavine ended up with 29, three rebounds, and five assists to give the Bulls their fourth win.

We saw another comeback happen in Miami as the Heat toppled the defending champs. Steph Curry had a triple-double (23-13-13) but the night belonged to Jimmy Butler, who came up big down the stretch for the Heat.

In a battle between two teams not expected to make the playoffs, it was the Thunder who got the W over the Magic. After losing three straight games to start the season, OKC has now strung up four wins in a row.

The final game of the day saw the Suns assert their dominance in the West against the Timberwolves. Cam Johnson led the way for Phoenix with 29 but CP3 put his stamp on the game with 15 points, eight rebounds, and 12 assists.

Big-time baller

We don't get to see much of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander—despite how good he is—mainly because he plays for OKC.

Today, he reminded everyone he still knows how to ball. Against the Magic, SGA piled up 34 points on 12-of-18 shots and made 10-of-11 freebies. He also had four rebounds, six assists, three steals (!!), and two blocks (!!!!). Light work.

What he said

The Suns are once again at the top of the West standings after beating the Timberwolves. And Charles Barkley doesn't think no other team in the conference is as good as Phoenix.
