What went down

The best continues to play like the best.

The Phoenix Suns remain the league’s barometer of success after dismantling the Philadelphia 76ers late to carve out a 114-109 victory. Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and the rest of the Suns just figure out ways to win, climbing out of a 14-point deficit before executing with perfection down the stretch.

Booker fired 35 points while Paul tallied 16 points and 12 assists. The Suns have won 14 of their last 15 games and improved to 44-10 overall.

Joel Embiid did all he could for Philadelphia as he powered his way to a double-double with 34 points and 12 rebounds, as well as three assists and three steals.

Big-time ballers

The invisible line that connects Luka Doncic and Trae Young is as strong as ever.

Doncic had 33 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds versus the Pistons while Young had nearly identical numbers after he tallied 34 points and 11 assists against the Pacers.

It was Luka’s 32nd career outing with at least 30 points and 10 assists. Young, on the other hand, now has 13 of those 30-10 games this season.

Special mention to Giannis Antetokounmpo and his eye-popping line of 44 points (17-of-20 field goals), 14 boards, eight dimes, and two blocks against the Lakers.

What he said

CJ McCollum’s time with Portland has come to an end. It’s the place he got drafted, was named Most Improved Player, and where he grew as a star alongside Damian Lillard. After nine years, McCollum is off to New Orleans but took the time to give a shoutout to his former team.

Did you see that?

In line with the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Season, the league announced its 15 greatest coaches. Filipino-American coach Erik Spoelstra made the list.
