What went down

The Brooklyn Nets finally stopped their losing streak in a win over the Kings, thanks to their new players. Seth Curry led the way with 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in his debut, helping the Nets snap out of an 11-game slide.

Curry was one of five players who finished in double figures in a team effort for the new-look Nets. LaMarcus Aldrige and Bruce Brown each had 19 points, while Cam Thomas came off the bench to chip in with 14. Newly acquired center Andre Drummond had a couple of dunks en route to his 11-point, 9-rebound outing.

The Nets’ win offered a glimpse into the future. After the star-studded trade between James Harden and Ben Simmons, Brooklyn has retooled in the hopes of salvaging its season. Simmons, though, has yet to make his debut.

Big-time baller

DeMar DeRozan’s MVP season continues. The veteran guard dropped 40 points (16-of-24 field goals) on his former team and added seven assists. His midrange and slashing game was in full effect as he didn’t even attempt a 3-pointer and knocked down all of his eight free throw tries.

DeRozan scored 19 points in the fourth quarter to help the Bulls pull away against the Spurs. His 40-point outing also extends his streak of scoring at least 30 points to seven.

What he said

If you’re Jarrett Allen, hearing you got into the All-Star Game must be music to your ears. The Cleveland center will replace James Harden for Team LeBron.

Did you see that?

It seems Ben Simmons is happy in his new situation. New Nets players Seth Curry and Andre Drummond suited up already but the former Sixers guard was out due to conditioning.

According to reports, Coach Steve Nash said that Simmons’ debut doesn’t have a timetable yet.
