What went down
The Memphis Grizzlies take their second win of the season after a 120-114 victory against the winless Los Angeles Clippers.
Ja Morant led the Grizzlies’ team effort as he ended the game with 28 points and eight assists. De'Anthony Melton and Jaren Jackson Jr. also had stellar performances with 22 and 21 points, respectively.
Paul George did everything he could for the Clippers, posting 41 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. He went 15-of-25 from the field including five made 3s.
The Clippers had a rousing start with George and Reggie Jackson at the forefront. They also dominated the paint, thanks to their active bench led by Isaiah Hartenstein who scored nine points in the first half.
The Grizzlies turned things around as they started the second half with a 17-2 run that put them on top for the first time since the opening quarter. They continued outscoring the Clippers, pushing the lead to as large as 16 points.

Just as the Grizzlies thought they were getting away with the victory, the Clippers cut the lead down late in the third after a few defensive stops that turned into points. George continued to command the floor entering the fourth quarter.
The game was determined as the clock was winding down. Desmond Bane and Jackson Jr. hit timely shots that extended the Grizzlies’ lead by five in the last minute of play, which the Clippers could no longer recover from.
Big-time baller
It’s about time Tyler Herro showed up for the Miami Heat.
After an underwhelming second season for the 2020 NBA bubble standout, Herro has finally gotten his groove back in the Heat’s opening matches. Herro tallied his first double-double of the season against the Pacers with 30 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite struggling from distance, Herro hit a crucial 3-pointer to tie the game with 49.9 seconds on the clock. Unfortunately for the Heat, Herro’s heroics were not enough to secure an overtime win.

What he said
It was a battle between the greatest NBA guards included in the NBA’s 75th Team with Chris Paul and Damian Lillard facing off. But it was CJ McCollum who dominated against the Phoenix Suns to take their first win of the season.
“My job is to make shots, and that’s what I pride myself on. I thought I did a good job tonight,” he said.
McCollum scored 28 points, 16 of which were from the third quarter. Their win tonight marks the first win for the Trail Blazers’ new head coach Chauncey Billups.
