What went down
A logo triple from Trae Young brought the Hawks to within one point with 1:40 remaining in the game. LeBron James had been chilling up until that point, sitting on a quiet 12 points, allowing his teammates Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroeder to wreak havoc on Atlanta’s defense. But sensing that the Hawks were getting too close for comfort, James decided to end things abruptly. He splashed a three-pointer, then blocked Clint Capella’s layup attempt, finishing the fastbreak himself on the other end. When the smoke cleared, James unleashed 9 points in the final two minutes of the game, literally putting away the game single-handedly. Another day in the office for the King.

With Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo threatening to put the Hornets away, Malik Monk helped lead his undermanned squad all the way back with a whopping nine triples, the last one sending the game to overtime. The Hornets eventually took down the Heat, 129-121. LaMelo Ball may have looked great in his first career start, but it was Monk who stole the show and snatched the victory for the Hornets.

The Suns only needed two points to tie the game and send it to overtime, but Devin Booker had other plans. Curling off a screen and receiving a perfect bounce pass from Chris Paul, Book elevated for a go-ahead 3-point shot, sending the Dallas Mavericks to their sixth straight loss. Booker and Paul combined for 58 points to propel Phoenix to the impressive win.
