What went down
The New York Knicks were coming off a bad loss at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder, in a home game where the Knicks gave up 145 points to a Thunder team that *checks notes* doesn’t have Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook.
OKC did have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who went on to torch the Knicks for 37 points. It was an ugly loss that sent the Knicks down the Eastern Conference standings with a 6-7 win-loss record. Julius Randle must have felt so horrible that he was compelled to call for a players-only team dinner.
It worked.
An energized Knicks team competed on the road against the Utah Jazz, a team that hadn’t lost at home. The Knicks relied on a balanced scoring attack to counter the firepower of a strong Jazz team that’s as deep as it goes.
The Jazz held a slim four-point lead entering the fourth but the Knicks quickly turned the tables with timely buckets from Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin. Then, the Knicks held steady.
Jalen Brunson kept it in control, sparking a 20-4 scoring run in the final period. The Jazz couldn’t recover. Brunson led the Knicks with 25 points while Cam Reddish chipped in 19 points. Kelly Olynyk’s 27-point effort for the Jazz wasn’t enough to keep their home record unblemished.
It was a statement win for a Knicks team that has been up and down this season but more than that, it was a huge bounce-back moment that showed the team’s togetherness. Perhaps Randle should fill up their calendar with regular team dinners.
Big-time ballers
Dorian Finney-Smith hit a career-high seven 3s versus the Clippers but his teammate Luka Doncic was the one who drained the biggest 3 of the game:

Doncic turned in another 30-point game, finishing with 35 points on 50 percent shooting. He just loves playing against the Clippers.
CJ McCollum also answered the call in a very competitive game versus the Grizzlies. Cool, calm, and steady, McCollum dropped 30 points to get the win for New Orleans without Zion Williamson.
The Sacramento Kings hung a whopping 152 points on the Brooklyn Nets, largely due to Terence Davis’ 31 points off the bench.
The Kings lost Keegan Murray early due to injury, opening the door for Davis to shine.
