What went down
The West-leading Denver Nuggets versus the Philadelphia 76ers clash was much anticipated because of the showdown between top MVP candidates Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid.
However, Embiid was ruled out due to foot and calf issues, and he told reporters that he may need some time off soon. With the current NBA scoring leader sidelined, Jokic took advantage and scored 25 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists.
Denver outscored Philadelphia full steam ahead in the first quarter but the 76ers showed off their offensive ability in the second frame. Tyrese Maxey put up 23 of his 29 points in the first half, helping keep the 76ers close. They trailed 61-57 at halftime before a late stretch that brought them closer, 114-111, after a dunk by Montrezl Harrell.
It was an exciting finish for the fans as Jeff Green drained two free throws with 13 seconds remaining, but Harrell missed the mark with his 3-point shot in the closing seconds.
Big-time ballers
Devin Booker looked good tonight as he scored a team-high 24 points, picking up the road win for the Phoenix Suns, 117-103. Luka Doncic, meanwhile, is making a statement that he indeed wants to be part of the postseason – displaying 25 points, seven rebounds, and an insane assist reel.

What he said
Immanuel Quickley went off for a career-high 40 points to lead the New York Knicks against the slumping Rockets. The 23-year old said that he felt the jitters as he was nearing his 40-point mark.
Did you see that?
Here’s something you don’t see every day: the 7’9” Rudy Gobert getting blocked by the 6’3” guard De’Aaron Fox.
