What went down

How surprised would you be if the Nets and the Bucks went toe-to-toe in the Eastern Conference Finals? A little surprised, really surprised, or not surprised at all? That’s the drama of a talented team who has yet to reach their potential versus the defending champions.

Today’s particular matchup delivered with playoff intensity, reminiscent of their conference semifinals bout last year. The Nets were victorious in this round with Kyrie Irving leading the way, dropping a season-high 38 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists.

Brooklyn had a ton of contributions from its two new players. Andre Drummond had a double-double of 17 points and 12 boards, while Seth Curry scored 19. Drummond, as well as James Johnson, also had key defensive plays down the stretch.

It was a significant road win for the short-handed Nets who have been reeling before the trade deadline. With this hard-fought victory over the defending champions plus the prospect of Ben Simmons’ debut and the return of Kevin Durant, things are looking really promising in Brooklyn.

Big-time baller

Just like when he goes up for a dunk, Ja Morant’s game just keeps going higher and higher. The Memphis star scored a regular-season career-high 46 points against the Bulls.

Morant went 15-for-28 from the field and did a ton of damage from the line, going 13-for-15, on top of four rebounds and three assists.

Morant’s 46 were also the most points by a Grizzly in a regular season game. In case you were wondering, his playoff high is 47 points, set during last year’s playoffs against the Jazz.

What he said

Bobby Portis has had a hell of a year shooting the basketball to the point that Bruce Brown couldn’t believe it.

Did you see that?

There were a lot of highlights from Ja Morant today, but if there’s one you need to check out, it’s this one:
