What went down

Two young teams with high expectations collided as the Cavaliers and Grizzlies faced off. After the dust settled, Darius Garland had 32 points and 11 assists to help his team emerge victorious while Donovan Mitchell and Dillon Brooks got ejected. The two were thrown out after an altercation underneath the basket in the third quarter:

In the aftermath of the Mitchell-Brooks encounter, the Cavs didn’t have a problem taking control of the contest without their superstar. They led by 12 after three quarters and continued to pour it on in the fourth.

Cedi Osman tallied 21 points off the bench while Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley combined for 35 points and 25 rebounds. Mitchell only had six points before getting tossed.

Big-time baller

Nikola Jokic notched his 17th triple-double of the season as the Nuggets beat the Warriors. The Joker filled the stat sheet with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting, 14 rebounds, 16 assists, plus a steal and a block.

Is he on pace to win another MVP award?

Speaking of MVPs, Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped 54 points (21-of-39 FGs, 10-of-15 FTs) and 19 rebounds to steer the Bucks past the Clippers.
