Bigs are back in the NBA as Philadelphia's Joel Embiid and Dallas' Kristaps Porzingis headline Thursday's (Manila time) 10-game slate.

The Mavericks finally ended their six-game slide with a win over the Hawks.

Scoreboard

 • Sixers 118, Hornets 111
 • Bucks 130, Pacers 110
 • Mavericks 122, Hawks 116
 • Thunder 104, Rockets 87
 • Wizards 103, Heat 100
 • Knicks 107, Bulls 103
 • Clippers 121, Cavaliers 99
 • Spurs 111, Timberwolves 108
 • Pelicans 123, Suns 101
 • Kings 116, Celtics 111

What went down

Everything about this play – from Porzingis' baptism-by-dunk to Dominique Wilkins' comment on big men – perfectly encapsulated Dallas' mood.

For Porzingis, dunking on Clint Capela, who had blocked him twice at the rim earlier in the game, was sweet revenge. Wilkins saying, “That's how you want your big to play” must have been church for Dallas fans who have seen Porzingis unable to take advantage of smaller opposing wings and guards numerous times.

In that clip, Luka Doncic was every Dallas fan finally seeing their big man wake up. That primal scream was a release for supporters, who eventually saw the Mavericks snap a six-game losing streak.

Porzingis finished with 24 points on 10-for-20 shooting and 11 rebounds. Maybe Porzingis is finally getting back in his groove after another injury. Maybe, the Unicorn has his horn back.

Big-time baller

Philadelphia looks like it's going from Trust The Process to Trust The MVP.

Joel Embiid continued his rampage versus the Hornets, dropping 34 points on 11-for-18 shooting and 9-for-10 from the free throw line with 11 boards, two steals and a block. Charlotte had nothing for Embiid.

To be fair, barely anyone in the league has an answer for someone playing like a Hakeem Olajuwon–Patrick Ewing hybrid. The Sixers are on top of the East standings and look like legit contenders with a healthy Embiid.

What he said

Say what you want about him on Instagram, Twitter or even in your own book, but Paul George is cash money for the Clippers.

Did you see that?

Winning in the NBA comes with its own perks.

For freaks like Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had a triple-double and had the Bucks up by 30 against the Pacers in the third quarter, there’s enough time to explore other passions like photography/online content creation.

Luka Doncic, on the other hand, gets some southern love from Atlanta's favorite trio after tearing up the Hawks.
