What went down
With the Brooklyn Nets coming off a four-game losing streak, their victory against the Indiana Pacers came as a huge relief.
The Nets opened the game with a sense of urgency, considering they had an abysmal start to the season. They outworked the Pacers immediately in the opening frame with a 33-18 lead. Indiana bounced back in the second quarter by doubling their score output from the first quarter, eventually cutting the lead down to seven at halftime.
The match was heated all throughout with the two squads trading basket after basket. Pacers fought hard for a deadlock at 100-100 with seven minutes left in regulation but Brooklyn’s 16-9 run courtesy of well-executed assists and confident shots sealed their second win of the season.
Chris Duarte and his cold-blooded three-pointers led Indiana with 30 points and three rebounds. Buddy Hield and Benedict Mathurin followed suit and poured in 22 and 16 points respectively.
Two-time NBA champion and MVP Durant dominated with 36 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one monster block. Irving totaled 28 points, six boards, six assists, four steals, and one block in the contest. The two superstars certainly looked like they wanted to get the W while they were at the Big Apple.
Big-time ballers
Giannis Anteokounmpo led the Bucks with 31 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 32 minutes of play against the visiting Pistons, 110-108. Meanwhile, Cade Cunningham put up 27 points, six rebounds, seven assists, a steal, and a block for Detroit.
