What went down
What do you get when two of the top teams in the league clash? Everything. There’s the big games from the superstars, a poster, a couple of ejections, and a sneak peek of Playoff Rondo.
The Los Angeles Clippers and the Phoenix Suns have been tremendous this season and they pretty much revealed several reasons why that is.
The Clippers’ Paul George came out hot and dropped 33 on the Suns on 7-of-9 from 3. Kawhi Leonard brought his complete game and finished with a 27-5-5 line, including taking on the difficult task of trying to put the clamps on Devin Booker.
The Suns, meanwhile, relied on a balanced attack from Booker (24 points), Mikal Bridges (20 points), and Deandre Ayton (18 points).
The Clippers held the lead for most of the game but the Suns lingered until the midway in the fourth, always threatening to take down the more experienced LA team.
Not surprisingly, it was Rajon Rondo, someone always able to deliver in big games, who came through with the knockout punch to put away the Suns. In 19 minutes off the bench, Rondo scored 15 points and dished out nine assists.
Things got chippy towards the end, leading to a Patrick Beverley ejection (Markieff Morris was also ejected in the third quarter). The two teams will meet for the last time in the regular season on April 28. That still won’t be enough, though. What we truly need is a seven-game series between these two teams.
Big-time baller
There’s another CB doing great things for the Toronto Raptors. Against the Chicago Bulls, Chris Boucher had a career game with 38 points and 19 rebounds on 36 minutes—all career-highs.

Boucher was everywhere and was active on the boards on both ends, grabbing nine offensive rebounds.
The awesome performance came in a loss, but that doesn’t diminish the fact that Boucher is a big-time baller. Yet another undrafted underdog doing great things when unleashed.

That’s what Jimmy Butler told the Los Angeles Lakers when their defense switched after a pick, forcing Andre Drummond to pick him up. Butler backed up, went between the legs, and casually hit a mid-range jumper.
