What went down

The Milwaukee Bucks continued their dominant start to the season, going 9-0 after cruising past the Oklahoma City Thunder with their leading scorer and two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo resting.

They’ve been largely overshadowed by the hype around underdog teams having unexpected good starts and all the recent drama. But the Bucks have been awesome to start the season, winning seven games by double-digits. They’ve done this with some key pieces missing a few games and they’re also still waiting on All-Star forward Khris Middleton to make his debut this season.

Against the Thunder, the Bucks showed off their depth, having six players in double-digits led by Brook Lopez with 25 points. Grayson Allen had 19 points off the bench while Bobby Portis tallied 12 points and 21 rebounds in a spot start for Antetokounmpo. With all the turmoil in the Eastern Conference, the Bucks have all the ingredients to stay atop the conference.

In Atlanta, the Hawks took a thrilling overtime win against the New Orleans Pelicans. To get to OT, they needed some heroics from their prized offseason addition.

Dejounte Murray and Trae Young combined for 54 points and were the biggest reasons the Hawks pulled away in the extra period.

The Hawks are 6-3 this season and are at the beginning of a challenging stretch of games. This early test could show just how well the Hawks’ offseason gambles pay off.

Big-time baller

De’Aaron Fox put on his cape in Orlando and saved the Sacramento Kings again.

Fox not only hit the game-winner, he was also the reason the game went to overtime with his crunch time buckets. He finished with 37 points on 14-for-24 shooting.

Is this the season Fox and the Kings end the longest postseason drought in North American sports? With how many big leads they blew today, they have a long way to go.

What he said

Giannis Antetokounmpo has a lot going for him. He knows he’s been blessed with plenty in his life, so he isn't going to be greedy.

He revealed as much after he lost a pregame shooting contest with his teammates.

This response from Steven Adams was equal parts charming and intimidating. Asked about the Grizzlies’ rebounding, Adams had a succinct answer.

Did you see that?

Between Nikola Jokic and Bones Hyland, the Denver Nuggest could fill today’s top 10 plays on their own. The duo made some crazy passes throughout their big win against the San Antonio Spurs.
