What went down

Nothing was going right with the Milwaukee Bucks in the first two quarters. They only shot 26.7 percent from the field, made one 3-pointer, and trailed by as much as 19 points. Their 32 points in the first half were the second fewest points they scored in a half in their last five seasons. Even Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo barely made an impact with only four points, two rebounds, and two assists at the break.

The East-leading Philadelphia 76ers were well in control of the game until the final quarter started. That’s when Milwaukee started picking up the pace, going on an 11-0 run to take the lead for the first time since the opening period.

As the clock was winding down, a defensive lapse by Philadelphia led to a wide layup for Khris Middleton, which would have sealed the win for the Bucks in regulation. However, Furkan Korkmaz got a clean look in the corner to force overtime.

Then, Antetokounmpo took control. He went on an impressive 7-0 run to start overtime, putting his team ahead once again as the Bucks went on to snag the win. Antetokounmpo ended the game with 32 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists.

Tobias Harris and Danny Green combined for 37 points, while Ben Simmons had a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists in the loss.

Big-time baller

Norman Powell posted a career-high 43 points in the Toronto Raptors’ loss to the Detroit Pistons. He single-handedly kept the Raptors in the game, making 14-of-18 field goals (77.8 percent) and eight 3s. Powell made Raptors history by scoring the most points without tallying an assist in a game.

What he said

“I wanted to Stone Cold Stunner him.”

Dwight Howard was not happy with Antetokounmpo sitting in the middle of the court after firing a dagger that capped his 7-0 run. Despite the upset, Howard sill had high praises for the two-time MVP.

“What he did, we can’t control that, but he had a hell of a game. He made some tough shots at the end of the game. Reigning MVP, and he had a great game.”
