What went down
The heart of the 2023 WNBA All-Star Game was seeing Brittney Griner back on the court with her fellow All-Stars. There were of course a lot of highlights from the annual festivities from the W’s greatest talents, but BG’s presence provided a full circle moment from last year’s game where the players wore her No.42 in the second half.
This year, Griner was in high spirits as she helped Team Stewart get the victory. She finished with 18 points (including two dunks!) and 13 rebounds.

The game was one-sided for most of the night with Team Stewart getting production from a lot of players spearheaded by Jewell Loyd’s historic 31 points. The aforementioned Griner, Napheesa Collier, Kahleah Copper, Satou Sabally, and 3-point champion Sabrina Ionescu all finished in double-digits. Team Stewart set the All-Star Game scoring record, surpassing the 134-point total from Team Wilson last year.
For Team Wilson, Kelsey Plum tallied 30 points, tying her output from last year’s game.
Big-time baller
Jewell Loyd set the WNBA All-Star Game scoring record with 31 points as she was named the MVP. The Gold Mamba scored all her points from rainbow country as she knocked down a record 10 triples, including one 4-pointer.
Fittingly, she received a huge MVP trophy which was way bigger than last year’s prize.
