All-Star guard Devin Booker has played just 4 minutes in Phoenix's last 5 games.

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will be out of the team’s lineup for at least another month. Phoenix announced today that Booker has a left groin strain and will be reevaluated in four weeks.

Booker, who missed the team’s previous three games leading up to Christmas Day due to groin soreness, headed to the locker room early in the first quarter of a Dec. 25 game with the Denver Nuggets. He played 4 minutes and 20 seconds, finishing with two points on 1-for-2 shooting.

The 26-year-old Booker has missed six of the past nine games because of hamstring and groin ailments.

Phoenix managed to regroup and took the game to overtime but the Nuggets won, 128-125. The Suns topped the Memphis Grizzlies 125-108 on Tuesday night, but Booker was not present for that game either.

After the game, coach Monty Williams would not speculate on his return. “He’s getting more evaluation back in Phoenix. He can get the best care back there,” Williams said.

The Suns currently have a 20-15 record and are in fifth place in the Western Conference. Several players — most notably Landry Shamet (Achilles), Cameron Payne (foot) and Cam Johnson (knee) — have missed time with injuries. Additionally, forward Jae Crowder hasn’t played all year because the Suns are trying to work out a trade for the disgruntled veteran.

This season, Booker is averaging 27.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists. He is a three-time All-Star and made the All-NBA first team in 2021-22.
