Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took over in the fourth as the Thunder rallied late to hack out a gritty 112-105 win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 5, seizing a 3-2 West semifinal lead, Wednesday (PH time), May 14.

SGA dropped 10 of OKC’s final 16 points, including a clutch triple that gave them a 109-103 cushion with 47.1 ticks left to play.

The MVP frontrunner submitted 31 markers overall on top seven assists and six rebounds, pushing the Thunder to the brink of their first West Finals appearance since 2016.

OKC looks to close out the Nuggets in Game 6 back in Denver on Friday (PH time), May 16.

They rode a 34-19 fourth quarter to overturn a 86-78 deficit with Jalen Williams chipping in 18 points more and the twin towers of Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein combining for 29.

Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic topscored Denver with 44 points alongside 15 rebounds and five assists.

Jamal Murray logged 28 points, but the Nuggets squandered a 11-point lead late in the third quarter to move one loss away from a second-straight semifinal exit.
