Domantas Sabonis, De’Aaron Fox, and the Sacramento Kings held off the San Antonio Spurs for a 127-122 win at the Golden 1 Center on Friday, Philippine time, after the All-Star break.

Fox scored 28 points, nine assists, and five rebounds. He was also responsible for the clutch plays down the stretch which allowed Sacramento to secure the pivotal win.

Sabonis posted his 19th triple-double of the season with 22 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds. It was also his 38th consecutive game with at least a double-double.

The Kings had four players reach the 20-point mark, as guards Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter--each with 21 points--gave additional firepower.

Spurs guard Devin Vassell posted a game-high 32 points and seven assists on 13-of-18 shooting but was unable to close out the victory in the late minutes of the fourth.

It seemed that rookie Victor Wembanyama struggled from the field but he still tallied 19 points, 13 rebounds, five blocks, and five steals. Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan supplied San Antonio with 18 and 16 points respectively.

Vassell turned up hot at the end of the first quarter resulting in a 32-20 Spurs lead. Despite his solid start, Fox and the Kings barged in and got the lead by halftime.

The Kings were up for the entire third quarter, but Johnson was cooking in the fourth quarter and allowed the Spurs to get close, tying the game at 114-114.

Wemby got an and-one to put them ahead by a single point, but Fox’s clutch three-pointer and his defensive play on Vassell’s layup attempt handed the Kings the win.
