Porzingis returns as Celtics destroy Clippers for sixth straight win

Kristaps Porzingis returns to the lineup as the defending champion Celtics crushed the Los Angeles Clippers, 126-94, Monday, for a sixth straight win. 

The Latvian giant scored Boston’s first field goal of the game off a three-pointer and finished with 16 points in 23 minutes. 

Jayson Tatum and Payton Pritchard each scored 20 points for Boston while Derrick White added 19 markers. Jaylen Brown had 17. 

A 51-29 second quarter broke the game wide open as the Celtics tied the NBA record with most threes made in a single quarter at 12. They finished with 22 made threes. 

Ivica Zubac posted a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers, who saw their five-game winning streak snapped. 

James Harden flirted with a triple-double, notching 19 markers, eight rebounds and nine dimes. 

Boston will see action next in the NBA Cup, where they will face the Chicago Bulls while the Clips aim to bounce back against the Washington Wizards.
