Forward Otto Porter Jr. has retired from the NBA, he announced on Tuesday, Philippine time.
"For the past 11 years, I had the chance to live my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA," he said in a statement.
"That dream was capped by winning an NBA Championship! Unfortunately, my body is not allowing me to play at the level that I expect of myself, and I have therefore decided to retire."
Porter Jr. played 11 NBA seasons with the Washington Wizards (2013-19), Chicago Bulls (2018-21), Orlando Magic (2020-21), Golden State Warriors (2021-22), and Toronto Raptors (2022-24).Otto Porter Jr. has announced his retirement:

He was drafted in the first round, third overall, in the 2013 NBA Draft by Washington. Porter Jr. competed in 527 career games (319 starts) with averages of 10.3 points on 47.7 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from three, along with 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.1 steals in 25.4 minutes per game, helping Golden State to a championship in 2022.Otto Porter Jr just announced his retirement, thank you for this sir pic.twitter.com/NSZB8ysvlp

A native of Morley, Mo., he was a two-year collegiate player at Georgetown (2011-13), where as a sophomore, he owned averages of 16.2 points on 48.0 percent shooting and 42.2 percent from beyond the arc, adding 7.5 boards, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals in 35.4 minutes per game. Following his final season at Georgetown, he was named a 2012-13 Consensus All-America First Team member, the Big East Player of the Year and selected to the All-Big East First Team.
