Kyle Filipowski didn’t just stand out in the NBA Summer League—he made his mark.
The Utah Jazz sophomore big man turned heads by becoming the first player in franchise history to bag the Summer League MVP award.
Filipowski averaged a league-leading 29.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in three games. He also shot 56.1% from the field and 39.1% from deep.

His best summer league performance came against the San Antonio Spurs when he finished with a monster double-double performance of 35 points and 11 rebounds.
The 21-year-old averaged 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds during his rookie season with Utah, becoming one of two rookies to record at least 650 points, 400 rebounds, and 100 assists.
Filipowski also made the All-Summer League First Team alongside Sacramento’s Nique Clifford, San Antonio’s David Jones-Garcia, LA Clippers’ Jordan Miller, and Minnesota’s Terrence Shannon Jr.
Meanwhile, Summer League Championship Game MVP Kon Knueppel and Hornets teammate KJ Simpson bannered the All-Summer League Second Team.
Joining the Charlotte duo are Detroit’s Ron Holland II, Sacramento’s Isaac Jones, and Oklahoma City’s Ajay Mitchell.
Knueppel fired 21 points as the Hornets went 6-0 on their way to securing the franchise's first Summer League title. Ryan Kalkbrenner added 15 points and three other Charlotte players each scored 11.
Isaac Jones led the Kings with a 24-point, 11-rebound double-double – both game highs – while Devin Carter contributed 13 markers and seven assists.
