A five-game slate saw the Cleveland Cavaliers keep their immaculate start intact and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropping a career-high against his former team. 

Meanwhile, Victor Wembanyama put on a show on both ends in this latest San Antonio Spurs win. 


UNSTOPPABLE CAVS IMPROVE TO 12-0, THUNDER SURVIVE CLIPPERS IN THRILLER 

  • Cleveland Cavaliers (12-0) def. Chicago Bulls (4-7), 119-113: The Cleveland Cavaliers’ undefeated run is alive and well.

For the second straight-game, the league-leading Cavaliers cranked out a close win and now became just the eighth team in NBA history to start a season 12-0. 

 

  • Double “D” assault: Donovan Mitchell uncorked 25 of his team-high 36 points in the opening half on top of eight rebounds, seven threes, and four steals.  

 

He had the play of the game with a nifty 360 spin layup over Julian Philipps off a Evan Mobley pass early in the second frame. 

  • Mitchell on the Cavs’ 12-0 start: “We’re doing it in various ways." 

WEMBY WREAKS HAVOC IN SPURS BLOWOUT AS ROCKETS, NETS SCORE WINS 

 

 

  • Fierce French firepower: Wembanyama had a monster 34-point, 16-rebound double-double while also matching a career-high six threes. The reigning Rookie of the Year also had three blocks in a well-rounded game. 

 

He also became the first player to record 12 or more threes and 10 or more blocks in a two-game span. 

  • Like fine wine: Chris Paul notched his fourth double-double of the season after finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds alongside six rebounds. 

Despite being 39 years old, Pau has never missed a game so far for the Spurs and averaged nearly 29 minutes per game. 

 

  • Houston Rockets (7-4) def. Washington Wizards (2-7), 107-92: Alperen Sengun cracked back-to-back 20-point games for the first time this season in a convincing Rockets home win.

  • Papi Alpie: Without starting point guard Fred VanVleet (hamstring), Sengun took charge and fired 27 points with 17 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks. 

 He became the first Rocket since Dwight Howard to put up those numbers. 

 

  • Brooklyn Nets (5-6) def. New Orleans Pelicans (3-8), 107-105: Five Nets starters scored in double digits in thrilling escape against the Pelicans, who now dropped their to fifth-straight game. 

 

  • Clutch Cam in NOLA: Cam Thomas took over in the final frame and scored 10 of his 17 points, including the go-ahead triple that put the Nets ahead, 106-105 with 32.2 seconds left.
