Coast-to-Coast: Josh Giddey drops first trip-dub as a Bull; Hawks down Nets in streak

It’s a blowout Tuesday indeed. 

Four teams dominated at home headlined by Josh Giddey’s individual brilliance for the Bulls in Chicago and the Trae Young-led Atlanta Hawks seemingly playing their best basketball of the season. 


HAWKS KEEP SOARING; PAYTON PRITCHARD STAYS SOLID FOR CELTICS

  • Atlanta Hawks (11-11) def. New Orleans Pelicans (4-18), 124-112: Another well-balanced effort paved the way for a season-high fourth straight victory for the Hawks at the expense of the Pelicans. 

  • Dime Dolla: Trae Young, who is the league leader in assists this season at 12.2 per game, finished with 15 dimes more on top of 12 points. It was his 15th double-double of the season while De'Andre Hunter celebrated his 27th birthday with a team-high 22 points. Seven Hawks players reached double-digit outings as Atlanta are now just two games back of the fourth-ranked New York Knicks.  
  • Boston Celtics (17-4) def. Miami Heat (9-110), 108-89: Payton Pritchard dropped his fourth straight game scoring 20 points or more, this time firing 25 off the bench in a commanding Celtics beating of the Heat. 


JOSH GIDDEY SHINES IN LATEST BULLS DUB AS TIMBERWOLVES BLAST LAKERS 

  • Chicago Bulls (9-13) def. Brooklyn Nets (9-13), 128-102: Josh Giddey registered his first triple-double showing wearing a Bulls jersey as Chicago crushed the Nets. 

  • Just Got Giddey-ed: It was Giddey’s 12th career triple-double on the night Nikola Vucevic tallied a 21-point,10-rebound double-double and rookie Matas Buzelis scored a season-high 20 markers.
  • Minnesota Timberwolves (10-10) def. LA Lakers (12-9), 109-80: Despite Anthony Edwards struggling, the Timberwolves found a way to demolish the Lakers, who are in the second game of a back-to-back.
