Gunning for a historic three-peat is Mac McClung.
The two-time defending champion is taking part in a third straight Slam Dunk contest in the upcoming 2025 All-Star Weekend, Sunday, February 16 (Philippine time) at the Chase Center, San Francisco, California.
McClung will face a fresh crop of challengers: Stephon Castle of the San Antonio Spurs, Matas Buzelis of the Chicago Bulls, and Andre Jackson Jr. of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Last year, the high-flyer became just the fifth player ever to win the event in consecutive years since Michael Jordan, Jason Richardson, Nate Robinson and Zach LaVine.
McClung toppled Boston Celtics' Jaylen Brown in the final round to become the event’s first back-to-back winner since LaVine in 2015 and 2016.
In 2023, the Osceola Magic gunner overcame Trey Murphy to rule the 2023 edition of the event with a near flawless performance after executing perfect 50s on all but one of his dunks.
Nate Robinson is the only player so far to win the event three times way back in 2006, 2009 and 2010 but never doing it in three straight years.
Both Castle and Buzelis, the no. 4 and 11 picks of the recent draft, look to to turn heads in the Dunk Contest and stop McClung from a three-peat.
Jackson, a second-round pick in the 2023 draft, is also capable of staging an upset and make a name for himself in the event.
