Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks found a way to win without superstars Luka Doncic and Klay Thompson.

Irving unloaded 23 points, anchoring a balanced Mavericks attack against the New York Knicks, 129-114, for back-to-back wins.

Naji Marshall paced the Mavs in scoring with 24 markers, his fourth straight 20-point outing, while Spencer Dinwiddie and Quentin Grimes each had 21.

P.J. Washington added his four straight double behind a 19-point, 10-rebound outing for Dallas, which led by as many as 24 points and shot an ultra-efficient 57% from the field.

Doncic (right wrist sprain) missed his fourth game of the season but his presence is hardly missed in a dominating Mavs win at home.

Besides Doncic, Thompson (left foot plantar fascia), Daniel Gafford (illness),and Dante Exum (right wrist surgery) also did not play.

Dallas now improved to 11-8, leapfrogging the Denver Nuggets (9-7) for the eighth spot in the West.

Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson spearheaded the Knicks with 37 points while Karl-Anthony Towns added a 25-point, 14-rebound double-double.

Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart put up a combined 32 markers as New York fell 10-8 this season but remained in the top four of the East behind the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, and the Orlando Magic.

The Mavericks will return to action against the Utah Jazz (4-13) while the Knicks will finish their five-game road trip in Charlotte as they face the Hornets in a NBA Cup duel.
