With the loss and a Houston win earlier, the Golden State Warriors slipped to no. 3 in the West and paved the way for the Rockets’ rise to the second spot.

Revenge is best served on the road for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the West-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.

SGA erupted for 35 points and the Thunder avoided a monumental collapse to nip the Stephen Curry-less Golden State Warriors, 105-101.

Gilgeous-Alexander hit a clutch triple with 1:25 left that made it 100-96, giving breathing room for a OKC side who squandered a 19-point lead early.

SGA also iced the game with a pair of free throws, after a Andrew Wiggins miss that could have tied the game.

Isaiah Joe added 17 markers while Isaiah Hartenstein registered a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double as the Thunder improved to 14-4 this season.

Jalen Williams exited early after sustaining a right eye injury in the second quarter. He finished with 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds in 16 minutes.

Curry did not play due to knee soreness, as the former MVP dropped 36 markers in Golden State’s 127-116 win in Oklahoma City in their first meeting.

On the other hand, Jonathan Kuminga paced the Golden State with 19 points while Buddy Hield added 17 on the night he passed Dirk Nowitzki for the 18th all-time in the NBA career three-point chart.

Andrew Wiggins poured 16 points while Draymond Green produced 10 markers, 13 boards, and seven dimes.

They are now 3-1 this season without Curry and now lost three straight games to drop to 12-6.

Up next for the Thunder are the LA Lakers (11-7) in a much-awaited NBA duel while the Warriors visit the Suns (10-7) in Phoenix in their next outing.
