Now without Victor Wembanyama for the remainder of the season, the San Antonio Spurs have their work cut out for them.

Chris Paul made sure to rally his troops.

Paul recorded a double-double in a milestone night to push the Spurs past the Phoenix Suns, 120-109, Friday, February 21.

The 20-year veteran leapfrogged Jason Kidd for the second spot in the all-time steals list with 2,686 and counting, leaving only John Stockton to catch. Paul ended up with 13 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds.

De’Aaron Fox took over in the second half, scoring 13 of his 26 points in the second half, while five Spurs players also reached twin-digit scoring outputs.

Entering the game, San Antonio announced that Wembanyama is done for the season after being diagnosed with a blood clot in his right shoulder.

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant dropped 22 points for Phoenix  in his Austin homecoming. The two-time champion and Finals MVP spent his lone college season playing for the Texas Longhorns.

San Antonio eye back-to-back wins when the Spurs tangle with the Detroit Pistons (29-26) while Phoenix look to end their skid in traveling to Chicago to battle the Bulls (22-34).
