Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets may have lost Mike Malone, but Denver gained a morale-boosting victory in the best time possible.

The three-time MVP posted 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists for his 33rd triple-double of the season that keyed a critical 124-116 decision against the Sacramento Kings, Thursday, April 10.

The victory helped Denver to arrest a four-game slide in the aftermath of a stunning move that saw the team let go of former champion coach Mike Malone and GM Calvin Booth.

Christian Braun took the scoring cudgels for the Nuggets with a team-high 25 points while Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. fired 21 markers apiece.

As a result, Denver moved to 48-32 and in joint-fourth with the LA Clippers, who defeated the West no. 2 Houston Rockets at home, in the team standings.

Meanwhile, Zach LaVine recorded a 25-point, 11-assist double-double as DeMar DeRozan chipped in 22. The Kings saw their three-game winning run end and slipped to 39-41 but remained in ninth spot in the West.

Denver returns home to battle the Memphis Grizzlies (47-32) while Sacramento takes on the Clippers (48-32) next.
