Up against the best team in the NBA record-wise, the Minnesota Timberwolves were more than up to the challenge.

Anthony Edwards put Chet Holmgren on an insane poster en route to an all-around 23-8-7 statline, leading a 116-101 Timberwolves domination of the West-leading Thunder, Friday, February 14.

Reigning Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid came up big with a 27-point, 13-rebound double-double, as Jaden McDaniels also contributed 21 markers.

The Timberwolves (31-25) led by as many as 19 points in a wire-to-wire win that ended a two-game skid and halted OKC’s seven-game winning run.

On the other hand, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recorded a near triple-double outing of 24 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. But he was held to a 6-of-21 shooting for Oklahoma City, who dropped to 44-10 entering the All-Star break.

Minnesota aims for back-to-back wins against the Houston Rockets (34-21) while Oklahoma City targets to bounce back in facing the Utah Jazz (13-40).
