Nickeil Alexander-Walker sank the game-winning free throws with 0.1 seconds left in double overtime, helping complete a wild 140-139 Minnesota Timberwolves comeback over the Denver Nuggets, Wednesday, April 2.

On the brink of defeat, Alexander-Walker got fouled from the left corner attempting a three-pointer by Russell Westbrook.

After officials confirmed the call, the 26-year-old drilled two of his three freebies from the charity stripe in an anti-climatic finish. He finished with 24 markers, eight assists, seven rebounds, and five threes.

Anthony Edwards scored 24 of his team-high 34 markers in the fourth frame and overtime sessions for Minnesota’s sixth straight win over Denver dating back to last season’s West semifinal duel.

The Timberwolves, who missed Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo due to one-game suspensions over their involvement in a near-brawl that escalated in Minnesota’s win over the Detroit Pistons, improved to 44-32 with their third straight win.

Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic’s 61-point, 11-rebound, and 10-assist triple-double was put ot waste as the Nuggets dropped to 47-29 with the loss.

Minnesota continues their road trip in Brooklyn to meet the Nets (25-51) while Denver squares off with the San Antonio Spurs (33-43) next.
