The latest edition of the "Battle of LA" turned into a one-sided affair, as the Lakers erupted for a season-high 45-point first quarter en route to destroying the Clippers.

In street clothes, Luka Doncic saw a glimpse of what his new team, the Los Angeles Lakers, are capable of.

LeBron James set the tone early and the Lakers dominated from start to finish in a 122-97 beatdown of the Clippers, Wednesday, February 5.

James scored 21 of his 26 markers in the opening half, putting his foot on the gas pedal from the get-go in the Purple and Gold squad’s triumphant first visit in the Intuit Dome this season.

Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves logged 20 points each for the Lakers, who finished their six-game road trip at 5-1 and rolled to their third straight win to improve their record to 29-19.

Meanwhile, Norman Powell paced the Clips (28-22) with 20 markers each for a second straight loss.

The Lakers return home to host the Pacers (28-20) but that comes after the Clippers tangle with the reigning Eastern Conference finalist first.
