LeBron James and the LA Lakers made sure to give Luka Doncic a memorable gift on his 26th birthday.

James muscled his way to a 33-point, 17-rebound double-double as the Lakers stayed composed during a late Minnesota Timberwolves uprising to hack out a 111-102 decision, Friday, February 28.

Doncic, who spent his first birthday as Laker, also posted a double-double outing of 21 markers and 12 boards for LA’s third straight win. Austin Reaves logged an impressive 23-6-5 statline.

Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards got ejected in the game midway through the third quarter after receiving his 16th technical foul of the season. He finished with 18 points in 26 minutes and will miss Minnesota's next game.

Without their star, however, the Timberwolves (32-28) nearly completed a 23-point but fell short in the end.

The Lakers aim for a fourth straight win in a ‘Battle of LA’ clash with the Clippers (32-26) while the Timberwolves continue their road trip in Utah against the cellar-dweller Jazz (14-44).
