Victor Wembanyama made sure new teammate De'Aaron Fox had a winning Spurs debut.

Wemby hit the game-winning free throw before intentionally missing his second attempt in a cardiac 126-125 San Antonio escape against the Atlanta Hawks, Thursday, February 6.

The reigning Rookie of the Year got fouled with 2.1  seconds left after Onyeka Okongwu challenged his poster attempt.

He calmly sank the first free throw before missing the second one on purpose as Trae Young’s half-court heave rimmed out.

Wembanyama finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds. But more importantly, he gave Fox--who dazzled with 24 markers and 13 dimes--a winning debut.

Young paced the Hawks with a double-double outing of 32 points and 12 assists, while Okongwu’s career-night scoring night of 30 markers was put to naught.

San Antonio continues their road trip in Charlotte to face the Hornets (12-35) while Atlanta hosts the Milwaukee Bucks (26-22) next.
