Tyler Herro emerged as the hero the Miami Heat needed to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Herro caught fire early and finished with 38 points, taking command of 109-90 Heat beatdown of the Chicago Bulls to move one win away from qualifying to the playoffs, Thursday, April 17.

The 25-year-old hit his first eight shots en route to a 23-point first-half outing as Miami built a 24-point lead at halftime, 71-47.

Despite the Bulls outscoring the Heat in the third quarter at 27-17, the East no. 10 seed restored order in the final frame and ended Chicago’s season for the third successive year.

Miami travels to Atlanta next to battle the Hawks for the final East playoff spot, along with a first-round match-up with the no. 1 seed Cleveland Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, it was the end of the road for Bulls as Josh Giddey tallied a team-high 25 points alongside 10 rebounds and four assists.

Coby White and Nikola Vucevic combined for 33 markers as the loss extended Chicago playoff drought to three years.
