New year but the same winning thunder for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Oklahoma City.

SGA dropped his third 40-point game in the last five games as Thunder rode a scintillating third quarter to foil the Minnesota Timberwolves, 113-105, on Wednesday, January 1.

The 26-year-old superstar went off for 25-point output alone in the second half for OKC, who won 12 straight games for the first time since the 2012-2013 season.

The victory also padded the Thunder's record to a West-best 27-5, six games ahead of the second-running Memphis Grizzlies (22-11).

Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards topscored the Timberwolves with 20 markers while reigning Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid added 19. Minnesota saw their tree-game winning streak ended with the loss and fell to 17-15.
