Karl-Anthony Towns made sure Mikal Bridges’s first game back in Brooklyn will be a triumphant one.

Towns collected his 35th double-double of the season in a nail-biting 99-95 Knicks victory over cross-town rival Nets to open the NBA Rivals Week, Wednesday, January 22.

KAT finished with 25 points and 16 rebounds alongside six dimes. OG Anunoby chipped in 20 while Jalen Brunson had 17 markers for the Knicks, who won for the ninth straight time over Brooklyn.

Bridges ended up with 10 points against his former team, the first time he crossed paths with Nets since that offseason trade that sent him to New York.

Meanwhile, D'Angelo Russell tallied a team-high 23 markers and 10 assists in a losing effort for the Nets while Cam Jonhnson put up 16 points.

The Knicks open a five-game homestand against the Sacramento Kings (22-20) while the Nets host the Phoenix Suns next (21-21).
