Klay Thompson meant business early and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks followed suit.

Thompson set the tone from the get-go while the Mavericks bench delivered big-time for a 127-120 road victory over the Boston Celtics, Friday, February 7.

The sharpshooter uncorked 23 of his 25 points in the opening half, helping the Mavs arrest a three-game skid and won the first time since trading superstar Luka Doncic.

Spencer Dinwiddie, Naji Marshall, and newcomer Max Christie combined to score all of Dallas' 57 bench points in a game where they led by as many as 27 points. Kyrie Irving added 19 markers while Daniel Gafford finished with eight points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown topscored the Celtics with 25 points while Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis each contributed 17 more. The loss ended Boston’s four-game winning run.

The Mavs return home to host the Houston Rockets (32-18) while the Celtics aim to bounce back in traveling to New York to face the Knicks (34-17).
