Fred VanVleet felt the heat from deep in South Beach.

VanVleet drilled a season-high nine threes en route to a 37-point outing, taking charge in a 102-98 Rockets road triumph over the Miami Heat that extended Houston’s winning run to nine games, Saturday, March 22.

Amen Thompson made his presence felt on both ends of the floor, putting up 19 markers, nine boards, seven steals, and five dimes as Houston improved to a West second-best 46-25.

Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins came up with his best scoring game as a Heat thanks to a 30-point night but Miami dropped its 10th straight game — the franchise’s longest losing streak since losing 12 in a row back in the 2007-08 season.

They also stumbled to a woeful 4-17 record since trading away former superstar Jimmy Butler in the February trade deadline.

Up next for Miami are the Charlotte Hornets (18-51) while Houston returns home to challenge the Denver Nuggets (44-26).
