Cleveland took the early punch from Boston. But instead of surrendering, the Cavaliers fought back to complete a stunning comeback.

Donovan Mitchell erupted for 26 of his 41 points in the second half of a gutsy 123-116 come-from-behind Cavaliers win against the defending champion Boston Celtics to notch their ninth straight victory, Saturday, March 1.

All-Stars Darius Garland and Evan Mobley combined for 37 points as Cleveland overturned an early 25-3 deficit and got their first lead of the game at 104-101 after a Mobley triple.

From that point, the league-leading squad held on in the endgame to gain a measure of revenge after the Celtics ended their 15-0 start early in the season.

Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum unloaded a season-high 46 points and a returning Jaylen Brown chipped in 37, but the defending champions got outscored, 59-42, in the second half.

Boston takes on the Denver Nuggets (39-21) next while the Cavaliers return home to host the Portland Trail Blazers (26-33).
