For the second straight game, the Detroit Pistons looked on the verge of another fourth-quarter meltdown... until they weren't.

Cade Cunningham unloaded a 33-point, 12-rebound double-double that propelled the sixth-ranked Pistons past the third-seed New York Knicks, 100-94, in Game 2 to level their East first round duel at one-game apiece, Tuesday, April 22.

It marked the Pistons’ first playoff win since Game 4 of the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals against then eventual champion Boston Celtics.

Dennis Schroder drilled a clutch three with 55.1 ticks left that broke a 94-all deadlock as Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges missed a couple of potential game-tying threes afterwards. Schroder finished 20 markers while Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren combined for 27 points.

The Pistons then sealed their first postseason win in New York since 1992 from the free throw line. Earlier, the Knicks ignited a 16-4 spurt in the fourth to overturn a 90-78 that set up another pulsating finish.

Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson topscored New York with 37 markers but the Knicks fell short of completing the comeback.

The series now shifts to Detroit for Games 3 and 4.
