Team president and general manager of basketball operations Zach Kleiman said the decision to dismiss Jenkins — who was hired in 2019 — was a “difficult decision.”
"I'm genuinely appreciative of Taylor's contributions to this team and this city over the past six seasons. I wish Taylor the very best going forward," Kleiman added.
Lead assistant Tuomas Iisalo will now serve as the interim head coach for the squad moving forward per NBA insider Shams Charania.

The Grizzlies are currently sitting fifth in the loaded Western Conference at 44-29 with two weeks left before the regular season ends.
Jenkins departed the Grizzlies as the most successful coach in franchise history while leading the team to the playoffs in 2021, ‘22, and ‘23 and one postseason series win.
He registered a 250-214 record across six seasons with the squad. Before the firing, Jenkins was the fifth longest-tenured coach in the league just behind San Antonio’s Gregg Popovich, Miami’s Erik Spoelstra, Golden State’s Steve Kerr and Denver’s Michael Malone.
The 40-year-old now became the second coach to get the pink slip this season after the Sacramento Kings moved on from Mike Brown in December 2024.
