LaMelo Ball’s injury-hit campaign is finally over.

Ball will miss the remainder of the season as the flamboyant guard is set to undergo procedures to address ankle and wrist issues, as announced by the Charlotte Hornets.

The 23-year-old superstar will go through an arthroscopic surgery to deal with a right ankle impingement on top of a minor procedure to his right wrist.

It marked the second-straight season that the Hornets shut down Ball after recurring ankle problems posed a big challenge for their franchise star all throughout his career.

Charlotte’s latest decision ends Ball's career year in scoring at 25.2 points per game in 47 games this season. He also posted 7.4 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 32 minutes of play.

The third pick of the 2020 Draft now missed at least 25 games for the third straight year after playing a career-high 75 games way back in the 2021-22 season.

As for the Hornets, another season will end in a disappointment after failing to make the playoffs for the ninth straight year.

Charlotte dropped to a third-worst 18-55 in the NBA record after 108-97 loss to the Toronto Raptors today.

Since Ball came to the Buzz City five years ago, the Hornets never got past the Play-in tournament and just registered a combined 66 wins in the last three years.
