The seven-time All-Star becomes the 48th player in NBA history to score 20,000 career points.

Just over six months ago in April, LaMarcus Aldridge announced his retirement from the NBA because of an irregular heartbeat condition. He rejoined the Brooklyn Nets in September after his doctors fully cleared him to play.

And on Friday night, with 1:58 remaining in the third quarter, the seven-time All-Star hit a 22-foot jumper to reach that 20,000th career point mark. Aldridge scored 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting in Brooklyn’s 105-98 victory against Indiana.

Aldridge becomes the 48th player in NBA history to reach the milestone, just one of seven active players to do so.

“It’s a blessing,” said Aldridge following the game.
