There's another James — officially — in the NBA.
History has been made when the Los Angeles Lakers officially drafted Bronny James at no. 55 in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, pairing him with his superstar dad LeBron James to become the first father-son duo to be in the Association at the same time.

Day 2 of the NBA Draft saw 24 other players get taken before Bronny, though none of them — not even close, really — got the attention that the No. 55 selection received, for obvious reasons.
Bronny will begin living his NBA dream as a Laker, setting the stage for him to become his legendary father's teammate.
Sounds like a good Hollywood script, right?
Bronny immediately extended his gratitude after getting drafted to the team where his father won a championship in 2020 and became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

“Beyond Blessed 🙏,” the younger James said.
The 19-year-old averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.4 minutes in his lone season at UCC, joining the Trojans midseason after being sidelined for nearly five months while recovering from a cardiac arrest episode that required surgery to treat a congenital heart defect.
Before joining USC, Bronny played high school basketball at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California.
At one point, LeBron said he wanted to play alongside Bronny, but the elder James has distanced himself from that sentiment saying as far back as a year ago that what the son wants isn’t always what the dad wants.
Fast forward to 2024, they are now teammates in LA and there is no clear winner today than the James family.
