As it turns out, the reason for not wanting a trade back to the Golden State Warriors is much simpler for Kevin Durant: he didn't want to move or leave his life in Phoenix midway through the ongoing season.

Kevin Durant set the record regarding reports of opposing a trade that would have sent him back with the Golden State Warriors.

“I just didn't want to get traded midway through the season. At the end of the day, I just didn't want to move,” the Phoenix Suns star said in an interview with Malika Andrews.

Before the Warriors traded for Jimmy Butler, reports have surfaced that the team aggressively pursued the Phoenix Suns star in hopes of pairing him anew with Stephen Curry.

But that fell through as Durant did not want to go back to the Bay Area.

“It was nothing against my time with the Warriors, or I heard it was because I don't like Draymond. I wanted to see it through with my team in Phoenix. And see what we can do through the rest of the season, so I'm glad I'm still there," the 36-year-old elaborated.

Furthermore, Durant also clarified he has not requested a trade from Phoenix despite the Suns' underwhelming campaign this season.

They are 26-28, currently on a three-game skid, and outside the Play-In territory spot in the loaded Western Conference.

Durant spent the first 10 seasons of his career at the Oklahoma City Thunder before making a seismic move in the 2016 offseason, when he signed with the Golden State Warriors to play with Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

He went on to win two championships and a couple of Finals MVPs before leaving in the summer of 2019 to join the Brooklyn Nets.

Into his third year with the Suns, KD normed 27.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists across 41 games this season.

He just played in his 15th All-Star Game a couple of days ago for Team Shaq, who went on to win the mini-tournament after breezing past Team Chuck in the championship round.
