KD goes for 40, surging Suns win 5th straight

The Phoenix Suns extended their winning streak to five games after fighting off the new-look Indiana Pacers, 117-110, on Monday (PHL time) at the Footprint Center.

 

The Suns took control from the get-go, building an early lead against Indiana right in the first quarter.

 

The Pacers, however, stayed within striking distance and pounced late, and even took the lead, 105-103, with 3:20 remaining after a blazing 11-0 run.

 

But the Suns turned to their stars, with Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal hitting separate go-ahead buckets for Phoenix.

 

 

 

 

KD had a game-high 40 points to go along with nine rebounds, and two assists.

 

Devin Booker and Beal added 26 and 25 points, respectively in the hard-fought win. Phoenix improved to 24-18 for 7th in the West, the Suns’ current streak is their second-longest of the season.

 

For Indiana, the Pascal Siakam addition hasn’t paid dividends quite yet. The Pacers are 0-2 with him on the team.

 

Nevertheless, Pascal had another solid outing with 15 points, four rebounds, and seven assists.

 

As an aside, Buddy Hield passed Kobe Bryant and Wes Matthews for 23rd in the NBA’s all-time career three-pointers. Hield fired five triples on his way to a team-high 18 for the Pacers.
