Henson reported that the 7-3 Sotto also garnered interest from four other teams but "Orlando offered (the) best situation."
Sotto recently participated in training camps for the Jazz, Mavericks, and Knicks. He worked out for Orlando before the 2022 NBA Draft.
Before going to Japan, Sotto first made waves in Australia's NBL with the Adelaide 36ers where he averaged 6.8 points and 4.5 rebounds in 27 games.
Sotto, who went undrafted last year, recently signed a contract extension with B.League team Hiroshima Dragonflies.
In his first stint with Hiroshima, Sotto put up averages of 9.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, and 1.4 assists per game. His new deal obtains an opt-out clause in the event that an NBA team signs him.
The 2023 NBA Summer League will run July 7 to 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
