Jimmy Butler returned. Things got chippier anew in an already tension-filled series.

Houston and Golden State went back-and-forth in a rough contest that featured ties and lead changes.

In the end, the Warriors protected their turf and moved one win away from the West semifinals.

Butler took over late and scored 14 of his 27 points in the fourth, pacing Golden State’s hard-fought 109-106 triumph against the Rockets in Game 4 to take a commanding 3-1 lead, Tuesday (PH time), April 29.

Game 5 returns to Houston on Friday (PH time), May 2.

Butler returned after missing Game 3 due to a left pelvic contusion and finished with six assists, five rebounds, and 40 minutes. He sank five crucial free throws in the last minute of regulation that led to a nail-biting Warriors win.

Brandin Podziemski went off with playoff career-highs 26 points and six threes as Buddy Hield supplied 15 markers of his own on the night Stephen Curry, who received the 2025 Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year award, earlier, had 17 markers.

On the other hand, Alperen Sengun took the scoring cudgels for Houston with a team-high 31 points, alongside 10 rebounds and five assists.

Sengun had a chance to give the Rockets the lead, but his jump hook rimmed out with Warriors' Draymond Green playing superb defense.

Fred VanVleet chipped in 25 points and tied a personal playoff-high eight threes in deflating loss.
