On the heels of winning his first ever NBA title last June, Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum graced the cover of ‘NBA 2K25’ while also sharing the honors with two notable hoopers.

Tatum was unveiled as the cover athlete of the famed basketball video game for its ‘Standard Edition,’ NBA 2K announced on Wednesday, July 10.

The 26-year-old superstar will also appear with multi-time WNBA champion and MVP A’Ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces in the “All-Star Edition,” becoming the first pair of NBA and WNBA players to share a NBA 2K cover.

Wilson will be the cover athlete of ‘WNBA Edition’ of the latest installment of the video game franchise.

Meanwhile, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee and NBA dunk contest legend Vince Carter will be the star of the “Hall of Fame Edition.”

It will be the first time in his career that Tatum, who was coming off clinching his first NBA title with the Boston Celtics last June, appeared as the cover athlete of the 2K franchise.

The five-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA first team averaged 26.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists last season and is currently with Team USA in their preparations for the upcoming Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Wilson, for her part, is perhaps one of the best– if not the best– women’s basketball player today, leading the Aces to back-to-back WNBA titles last season.

The 27-year-old is the reigning Finals MVP and a winner of the last two Defensive Player of the Year awards.

Wilson is also off to a great start in the ongoing 2024-25 season, leading the league in points (27.0) and blocks (2.7) per game, while placing second in rebounds per game (10.9) behind Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese.

She is currently with Team USA as they aim to clinch an unprecedented eighth straight gold in the Olympics.

Carter, meanwhile, is the only NBA basketball player in league history so far to play 22 total seasons in the Association and regarded as one of game’s greatest dunkers of all time.

In his almost two decade career, Vinsanity played for eight teams namely the Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and the Atlanta Hawks.

Carter appeared in over 1,500 games, starting in almost 1,000 altogether as the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year went alongside being named as an eight-time All-Star and represented Team U.S.A in the Olympics twice.

There are some critical points in his career that will always stand out to his fans, most notably his legendary performance in the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest where Carter showcased his high-flying creativity and jaw-dropping slams en route to winning the contest.

Dunk after dunk, it was VC at his very best.

The four different editions of “NBA 2K25” will be released on September 6.
